Cannabis Dispensaries in Park Slope: The Licensed Shops on Fourth, Fifth and Seventh

Six licensed shops now sit inside Park Slope, on Fourth, Fifth and Seventh Avenues. Where each one is, its registered hours and how to verify it.

5 min read

Cannabis dispensaries in Park Slope cluster on the neighborhood's three commercial avenues. As of 2026 the state's license list shows six licensed shops inside the Slope on Fourth, Fifth and Seventh Avenues, plus a few more just over its edges in Gowanus, Prospect Heights and Downtown Brooklyn. For adults 21+ who live between the park and Fourth Avenue, here is where each one is, what the state's records say about it, and how to tell a licensed counter from a smoke shop.

Where Park Slope's shops are

Park Slope runs from Flatbush Avenue in the north to the Prospect Expressway in the south, between Prospect Park West and Fourth Avenue. Fifth and Seventh Avenues are its main shopping streets, and the R train runs under Fourth Avenue. The licensed shops follow that grid.

Every shop below appears as an active licensed adult-use retailer in the Office of Cannabis Management's license data as of 2026. The hours listed are the ones registered with the state; shops change them, so check the shop's own listing on the day.

Seventh Avenue

  • Verdi Park Slope, 360 Seventh Avenue, between 10th and 11th Streets. It opened in April 2025 with a soft launch and a grand opening that June. Registered hours run 10 AM to 10 PM daily.

Seventh Avenue is the Slope's brownstone main street, and Verdi is the only licensed shop on it.

Fifth Avenue

  • Cannalicious, 435 Fifth Avenue, open since June 2025. Registered hours 11 AM to 9 PM, to 10 PM on Friday and Saturday.
  • Matawana, 533 Fifth Avenue, open since February 2024, which makes it the longest-running licensed shop in the neighborhood by the state's records. Registered hours 10 AM to 9 PM, to 11 PM on Friday and Saturday.
  • The Hibrary, 695 Fifth Avenue, open since March 2026, at the southern end where Fifth Avenue runs on toward Sunset Park. It registers the longest hours of the group, 8 AM to 11 PM every day.

Fourth Avenue

  • Budega NYC, 321 Fourth Avenue, open since May 2025, 10 AM to 10 PM daily.
  • DISPO/BK, 588 Fourth Avenue, open since April 2025, with early registered hours, 8 AM to 8 PM daily.

Just over the edges

  • Chronic Brooklyn, 483 Third Avenue, a block west of Fourth on the Gowanus side, open since August 2024.
  • Brooklyn Organic Buds, 623 Bergen Street in Prospect Heights, open since August 2025.
  • The Travel Agency Downtown Brooklyn, 118 Flatbush Avenue, at the Slope's northern tip near Atlantic Terminal, open since February 2024 and registered until midnight most nights.

The Park Slope, Gowanus and Prospect Heights hubs collect the site's coverage of each neighborhood, and the dispensary directory has the full borough list.

Telling a licensed shop from the rest

Brooklyn still has storefronts selling cannabis without a license, and some look the part. The check takes a minute. Verify licensed status via the OCM QR code at cannabis.ny.gov: every licensed dispensary must post the state's Dispensary Verification Tool near its main entrance. OCM's retailer finder at buylegal.cannabis.ny.gov lists every licensed location, and licensed products carry the state's universal symbol plus a QR code that links to the lab results.

A shop that offers free cannabis, a spin-the-wheel prize or a gift with purchase is offering something a licensed New York retailer can't. That isn't proof a shop is unlicensed, but it is a reason to scan the code before buying.

At the counter

  • Adults 21+ only. Staff check a valid photo ID before any sale: a driver's license, a non-driver ID, IDNYC, a passport from any country or a U.S. military ID.
  • Daily limits. Up to three ounces of flower and 24 grams of concentrated cannabis, a category that includes vapes and edibles. A shop can set lower limits when stock is short.
  • Edibles. Start low, go slow. Labels list milligrams per piece, and budtenders can walk through package sizes.
  • Delivery. Several of these shops deliver. Licensed delivery is prepaid online or by phone, needs ID and a signature at the door, goes only to homes, short-term stays and private businesses, and runs only during store hours.

Choosing between them

The differences are mostly geography and hours. Seventh Avenue residents have Verdi on the block; the Fifth Avenue trio covers the middle and south of the Slope; the two Fourth Avenue shops sit closest to the R train. For an early errand, DISPO/BK and The Hibrary open at 8 AM. For a later one, The Hibrary's 11 PM close beats the rest of the neighborhood.

Matawana has been open the longest, Verdi is its company's second New York City shop, and The Hibrary is the newest. Beyond that, menus and prices shift weekly, so the shop's own online menu is the place to compare.

Prospect Park, plainly

The neighborhood's back yard is Prospect Park, and it is public space. New York state law prohibits cannabis consumption on state-owned land and in public spaces, and that covers the Long Meadow, the loop and every bench along Prospect Park West, along with the sidewalk and any stoop facing it. Leases and co-op boards set their own smoking rules, too. A purchase on Fifth Avenue travels sealed in the bag it came in.

What it means for your errand

Park Slope went from no licensed shops to six in about two years. Most residents are now within a few blocks of one, and the useful habits are the same everywhere in the borough: scan the code, bring ID, and check the hours before walking over.
