New Dispensaries in Brooklyn, 2026: The Licensed Shops That Opened Since May, From Williamsburg to Sheepshead Bay

At least eight licensed storefronts opened in Brooklyn between May and October 2026, three of them in Bushwick in a single week. Where they are, when they opened, and how adults 21+ can verify a new shop.

Brooklyn's newest licensed counters did not open where the first wave did. Since May, the state's data shows new storefronts on Broadway under the Williamsburg Bridge, on Nostrand Avenue in Crown Heights, on Kings Highway, on Church Avenue in East Flatbush and on the Sheepshead Bay waterfront, plus three in Bushwick in the space of a single August week. For adults 21+, the borough's legal map keeps spreading past the brownstone core.

Every shop below is listed as active and operating in the Office of Cannabis Management's license data, which records the date each storefront opened to the public, and appears on OCM's dispensary location verification list under the name used here. Extra detail comes from news coverage or the shop's own site where noted.

The new shops, in order of opening

Superbness, 110 Broadway, Williamsburg

Opened in May 2026 on Broadway near the Williamsburg Bridge. Its site lists walk-in shopping, express pickup and same-day delivery across Brooklyn and much of the city, and describes the storefront as built around culture and community, with an events space at the same address marked as coming soon. OCM lists it as a minority-owned business. Directory listing. More on the neighborhood: Williamsburg.

Transcend Wellness Crown Heights, 772 Nostrand Avenue

Opened in June 2026. The Brooklyn Eagle announced its grand opening, with a ribbon-cutting and local officials, and named founders Jean Gordon and Paul Dorestant, who built the brand around approachable, education-first service. OCM lists it as minority-owned and as a licensee from a community disproportionately impacted by cannabis enforcement. The directory entry still shows the license holder's company name. Directory listing. See also Crown Heights.

ELEVATED, 302 Kings Highway, Gravesend

Opened in June 2026 on the Kings Highway commercial strip. OCM lists it as women-owned and as a licensee from a community disproportionately impacted by cannabis enforcement. Directory listing.

Bushwick's August week

Three licensed shops opened in Bushwick between August 1 and August 4, 2026, which is the clearest single sign of where Brooklyn's new licenses are landing.

Prime Time Cannabis, 856 Knickerbocker Avenue

Opened August 1, 2026, the first of the three. Directory listing.

At The Factory, 424 Troutman Street

Opened August 3, 2026. OCM lists it as a licensee from a community disproportionately impacted by cannabis enforcement. Directory listing.

Purple Cannabis Dispensary, 133 Wyckoff Avenue

Opened August 4, 2026, closing out the week. The directory entry still shows the license holder's company name. Directory listing.

Further south and east

Legacy Lifestyle Cannabis, 5901 Church Avenue, East Flatbush

Opened in August 2026. Respect My Region profiled founder and CEO Shanduke McPhatter in April, when the shop was still marked as opening soon, describing a store meant to create local jobs and welcome first-time shoppers alongside regulars. It holds a CAURD license, the state's first-round retail license class. Directory listing. Nearby: Flatbush.

Green Room, 2257 Emmons Avenue, Sheepshead Bay

Opened in October 2026 on Emmons Avenue along the Sheepshead Bay waterfront, the newest licensed storefront in Brooklyn in OCM's data. Directory listing.

Licensed, not open yet

OCM's data lists three more Brooklyn addresses as licensed but not operating: an address at 994 Atlantic Avenue, Cannabis Kingdom on 18th Avenue, and Hudson Haze on Fulton Street in Cypress Hills. None should be treated as open until the state's list says so.

How to check that a shop is licensed

Unlicensed shops are still part of the Brooklyn streetscape, some with convincing signage. Verify licensed status via the OCM QR code at cannabis.ny.gov: every licensed dispensary posts a scannable verification sticker near its entrance, and OCM's location verification list names every licensed storefront. Adults 21+ only, with a valid photo ID. Purchase limits are three ounces of flower and 24 grams of concentrated cannabis. With edibles, the label lists milligrams per serving: start low, go slow.

New York state law prohibits cannabis consumption on state-owned land and in public spaces.

The full, current list is in the dispensary directory, and the events calendar covers what is on around the borough.
