What to expect
An entire neighborhood competing to out-decorate itself, roughly bounded by 11th to 13th Avenues and 83rd to 86th Streets. Lights go up the day after Thanksgiving and stay lit through New Year's. Free to walk. Go on a weeknight; weekend tour buses make the sidewalks unusable, and residential blocks are public space where New York state law prohibits cannabis consumption.
The rule, plainly
Adults 21 and over may possess up to three ounces of flower and 24 grams of concentrate, bought from a licensed shop. New York state law prohibits cannabis consumption on state-owned land and in public spaces. What it means for your evening: buy sealed from a licensed shop, keep it closed in the car, and consume only where the venue allows; rentals set their own house rules, so ask before you book.Checked Sep 2026 · Source: OCM
