Red Hook is the Brooklyn neighborhood the subway forgot, and that's the whole point. The waterfront warehouses have turned into distilleries, breweries, and the occasional art space, and the Red Hook Ballfield food vendors remain one of the most specific food-culture institutions in the borough. The Ikea and NYC Ferry dock give the neighborhood its weekend flow, and the licensed cannabis retail footprint is still light here compared to denser Brooklyn.
