Why does the Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon turn Brooklyn into the 7th circle of hell?

For the past three hours the same cars have literally not moved off the block, and horns are blaring and air is thick with road rage and drivers screaming at each other. And this happens every year. </p> <p>I don’t even own a car so this isn’t about me being able to drive somewhere, but I do wonder how a first responder could get anywhere.
