Seeking South Brooklyn recs

<!-- SC_OFF --><div class="md"><p>My fiancé (33M) and I (31F) are moving to South Brooklyn this summer (specifically <strong>Gerritsen Beach</strong>) and I am looking for recommendations to help make this neighborhood feel like home. </p> <p>I have spent the last ten years living on the Upper West Side and in downtown Jersey City. I love the casual bars and pubs, trivia nights, coffee shops, workout studios, and parks I’ve been able to find in these areas. </p> <p>I am already very aware that Gerritsen Beach is especially isolated and is not prime real estate for our demographic, and I know I will not find the walkable community I have had in the past. The move is financially motivated as we will be living with family, so the location is what it is. But I’d still love to find places that feel like “our spots” where we can make friends and feel at home. We have a car so can travel to nearby neighborhoods, but closer to home is a bonus!
