<!-- SC_OFF --><div class="md"><p><a href="https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/bills/2025/S3394/amendment/A">https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/bills/2025/S3394/amendment/A</a> <— this is the CREEP act!</p> <p><a href="https://www.assembly.state.ny.us/mem/">https://www.assembly.state.ny.us/mem/</a> <— here are the Brooklyn assemblymen you should email/call!!</p> <p>As the Assembly prepares to vote on upcoming legislation, I’m asking everyone to take a few minutes to call Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie or call judiciary committee members Karen McMahon, Phil Steck and Jen Lunsford to urge them to put the CREEP Act on the agenda!!</p> <p>Let’s pass the CREEP Act to bring New York State stalking protections into the digital age and in line with 43 other states.</p> <p>The Senate has already passed this bill, but it’s struggling to gain attention in the Assembly given the list of laws on the docket.</p> <p>This is a small but incredibly important act that could protect so many people. Right now in Brooklyn, long-term orders of protection for stalking are largely limited to relatives or intimate partners?? In today’s world of cyberstalking, workplace stalking, online harassment, and easy access to personal information, judges should have the ability - when appropriate - to grant protections to ANY victim of stalking regardless of relation.</p> <p>In 43 other states, judges already have this power?! Without this legislation, many stalkers continue to exploit this loophole, leaving victims without meaningful protection and allowing harmful behavior to continue. (I’ve seen this which is why this is important to me &amp; i urge you to send this email!)</p> <p>Stalking can happen to anyone. The longer we wait, the more New Yorkers and people we love remain vulnerable. Passing this bill could make a life-changing difference for countless victims and families.</p> <p>Please help bring attention to this issue and encourage the Brooklyn Assemblymen to pass the CREEP Act.</p> </d
